Winnie the Pooh’s Words of Wisdom

I’m sure we all remember watching Winnie the Pooh cartoons or reading the books when we were children. Even now, I read Winnie the Pooh books to my boys, and every now and then we’ll catch a cartoon on TV.

As an adult, I can appreciate the lessons taught by Pooh and his friend, Christopher Robin. There is always some gem to take away from their story. Recently, I came across an article titled “20 Quotes from Children’s Books Every Adult Should Know” and loved the very first quote on the list, which happened to be a Winnie the Pooh quote:

Winnie the Pooh

This quote, these words, this mindset, is what I hope you know and pray you believe. I want today’s post to really sink in with you. Please don’t gloss over it, disregarding it simply because it’s a Winnie the Pooh quote. Let this soak in for a while!

“You are BRAVER than you believe.” Folks, I’m here to tell you that pain can be scary. For many of you, taking that first step toward a pain free life required a LOT of courage. For that, you are to be commended! You’re fighting your condition head-on! You aren’t running away, masking the pain, or ignoring the signals. You’re standing in face-to-face with what could be a lengthy journey, yet you’re saying, “Bring it on!” You, friend, are BRAVE!

STRONGER than you seem.” Many of you have been told that you need to get stronger and that your pain is simply due to a “weakness” in your body. However, I couldn’t disagree more. You are STRONG, friend. Whatever your condition, whatever your diagnosis, your body is reacting perfectly and out of strength. You aren’t broken. You aren’t fragile. There’s no need to coddle you. It’s easy to forget just how long you’ve dealt with this issue. That in and of itself speaks to strength. Stop and think about just how long you have sustained your energy while battling pain! THAT takes an incredible amount of strength.

SMARTER than you think.” This…THIS is my favorite part of Milne’s quote. I know with 100% certainty that you know exactly why you hurt. That gut instinct that you have? It’s correct. Know why? Because it’s you, and you’re never wrong. Every day of every week, I have clients tell me precisely what is causing their pain and how to fix it. None of them have anatomy degrees, but they know what’s happening with their body. They know what they experience on a daily basis. They know what it’s like to stand for 30 minutes and then need to sit down, or to be sitting at the office and need to get up and walk around. They (and you) know exactly what needs to happen. It’s my job to simply listen.

So, today, KNOW that you are BRAVE, STRONG, and SMART, and if anyone tries to convince you otherwise, remind them of who Winnie the Pooh says you really are. If this post resonated with you, and you’re looking to start your journey to living life PAIN FREE, download our 4 Free E-cises today!
