I saw a quote when checking Twitter this morning that I wanted to share with you (By the way, if you aren’t following me on Twitter, I think you should).

When scrolling through tweets from the folks I follow, I saw this:

On one hand, you could read that as a don’t-mind-me-I’m-simply-here-to-state-the-obvious kind of quote. On the other hand, you could read it as a kick-in-the-pants-get-off-your-butt-and-DO-something kind of quote. I prefer to think of it as the latter.

You see, I believe whatever condition you’re dealing with, be it a degenerative hip, herniated disc, frozen shoulder, or plantar fasciitits just to name a few, is changeable. But I also believe that the only way to change your condition is to do something about it. You can’t pop a pill for your headache, get a shot in your low back or simply rest your painful knee. You have to take action. You have to tackle the cause of the pain. No longer can you afford to merely treat the symptom itself.

Remember that your body is a stimulus-response organism. If you put your hand on a hot burner (stimulus) you QUICKLY pull your hand away (response). When you step on a thumbtack (stimulus) you IMMEDIATELY know it (response). When your body is out of balance (stimulus), pain is right around the corner (response). It’s just that simple.
