Dear Carrie,

Thanks for writing your testimonial. Your story is similar to mine. I'm a professional runner and have been since I graduated from college in 1999. I've run for nike for ten years now and have had great success on the roads, track and in my first marathon. After my marathon in October of 2005 my body began to shut down with throbbing pain from my back, throughout my pelvis and down to my groin and hammstrings. I continued to train through it hoping it was just in my head. My performances crumbled as did my spirits after many failed visits to various specialists around the world. After almost 2 1/2 years of pain I finally found egoscue through a therapist someone had reccommended. I was totally like you in the sense of more $$ down the tube. After getting my lumbar MRI done they finally found a partially bulging disc at L5 which was causing pressure on my nerves. I also have a flat sacrum and terrible straight posture with zero pelvic tilt. So not good for the miles and intenstity I put in. I missed both Olympic trials this year which was a huge blow to the system. Many Doctors have mentioned surgery, but I've been down that road with sports hernias which caused more functional problems to this day. So needless to say Egoscue seems to be changing my body as the days go by. I'm going into my 4th week of the e-cises and am having more good days then bad days running. I'm finally up to amost 50minutes of running with minimal tightness here and there. I pray that this is only secondary to the changes my body is experiencing. I was forced to take three months off with all the various treatment and Doctor visits I was getting. I pray that this will be the ticket to getting me back on top. Thanks again Carrie for your input. I would love to chat more about your experience with this method. I believe many runners would benefit greatly from this method. So many injuries could be prevented.
Cheers,
Nic
